Ambanis host David Beckham at 'Antilia'

The Ambani family, known for their influential stature and grand events, graciously hosted David Beckham, the British football legend, at ‘Antilia‘, their opulent residence in Mumbai, on Thursday.

Beckham, who is on a three-day visit to India as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, attended the thrilling India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 semi-final at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.

Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani, who is also the owner of Mumbai Indians, gifted the Manchester United legend a jersey of his IPL team.

The official X (Twitter) handle of Mumbai Indians shared an image of Beckham from his visit to Antilia. In the click, he was seen holding a No. 7 jersey, while posing for the shot alongside the Ambani family which included Radhika Merchant the fiance of Anant Ambani, Mukesh, Nita, Isha, Akash and Shloka Mehta.

Nita looked radiant in an ivory kurta. Isha opted for a more casual look. She paired a white peplum top, with blue jeans. Mehta chose a pastel look which consisted of a lavender coloured dress, while Merchant looked chic in a sleeveless turtleneck top and ivory hued pants with gold-coloured floral pattern.

The guest of honour – Beckham appeared dashing in black and white formal wear.

This grand party is the third of the high-profile events attended by Beckham. Earlier, the football icon was the star guest at a dinner hosted by Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, as well as a party arranged by Shah Rukh Khan.

Beckham, who witnessed India’s victory in the semifinal clash, also had a unforgettable experience at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar personally guided Beckham through a mini-tour of the stadium, where the Englishman engaged in a friendly mini-football session with some Indian players.

Seated in the stands, Beckham witnessed Virat Kohli’s historic moment as he surpassed Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds.

In an interview with BCCI, Beckham shared his experiences during his first visit to India, expressing his enthusiasm for interacting with children across various cities, including Gujarat. He conveyed, “I have been busy visiting several cities, interacting with multiple children, and soaking in the high energy.”
