Chiliz and Atlético de Madrid Expand Their Partnership

In a pioneering move that marks the beginning of a new stage of Fan Token utility, Chiliz, the leading blockchain provider for the sports industry, and Atlético de Madrid have agreed to expand their partnership. The collaboration aims to strengthen the Atlético de Madrid Fan Token, making it more accessible to fans through the club’s official app and digital ecosystem.

This expanded partnership offers Atlético de Madrid Fan Token holders an increased catalogue of benefits, alongside a larger number of rewards. Crucially, it allows fans to access opportunities linked to holding Fan Tokens via the club’s official app.

The Fan Token Experience

Available in Beta version from today, the Fan Token Experience integrates the ecosystem into the Atlético de Madrid platform, enhancing it with new features specifically designed for Atlético de Madrid fans. Daily Fan Polls and trivia quizzes will be launched, enabling fans to earn points that can be redeemed for various rewards and experiences linked to the club.

These points will also provide fans who don’t yet hold Atlético de Madrid Fan Tokens the opportunity to earn their first token for free. The integration of the Fan Token into the Club’s digital ecosystem paves the way for a new frontier in the adoption of web3 technology.

Impact of The Partnership

The expanded partnership between Chiliz and Atlético de Madrid comes five years after the Rojiblancos became the first Spanish club to launch its official Fan Token, setting a trend that other major LaLiga clubs would soon follow. Since then, the Atlético de Madrid Fan Token has enabled fans across more than 120 countries to participate in dozens of fan-related decisions through voting on binding Fan Polls.

Over 2,000 rewards have been given away to Fan Token holders, ranging from signed merchandise and free tickets to exclusive experiences such as being part of the team’s official season photo. Alejandro Ugarrio, Director of Atleti Lab, expressed his excitement about the new integration with, stating that it aligns perfectly with their strategy of enhancing the experience of their fans worldwide.

Alexandre Dreyfus, Founder and CEO of Chiliz and, also spoke about the significant step in the adoption of Fan Tokens and digital assets by tier-1 sports teams. He emphasized that Atletico is leading the way in delivering digital benefits to their fans while inaugurating a new stage in the Fan Token journey.
