Katrina Kaif becomes a victim of deepfake

One star fell.. and then another.

Katrina Kaif is the latest celebrity to become a victim of deepfake.

This comes just two days after a deepfake video of Rashmika Mandanna went into circulation. While the ‘Pushpa’ actress called it scary, the industry showed solidarity.

A digitally altered or deepfake image of Katrina Kaif from her upcoming film ‘Tiger 3’ has surfaced online. The original picture shows the Bollywood star fighting a Hollywood stunt woman clad in a towel.

In the new photo, the ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ star is seen in a white lingerie with a plunging neckline and matching boxers.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), some users condemned the worrying trend of tampering with celebs’ images to create a sensation online. One fan vented that AI is being misused by creeps to morph images and create fabricated pictures and most often women are being the targets.

“Katrina Kaif’s towel scene from Tiger 3 gets morphed. Deepfake picture is garnering attention and it’s really shameful. AI is a great tool but using it to morph women is outright criminal offence. Feels disgusted,” reads the post.

Earlier, Mandanna hit headlines after a video of what appeared to be her in a figure hugging black dress with a plunging neckline went viral. Later, a journalist from AltNews revealed that the picture was fake and the woman in the original video was a British-Indian influencer named Zara Patel.

Later, Mandanna reacted to the video. Taking to X, she wrote that the entire ordeal was “extremely scary” for her. Many celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Mrunal Thakur and Telugu stars came in her support.
