After the record-breaking run in equities in Samvat 2079 — the year as per the Hindu calendar ending this week, market participants are betting on further gains in the new year.
The Nifty and Sensex gained roughly 9% each during Samvat 2079 so far, while the Nifty Midcap 100 and Small-cap 100 indices returned 30% and 36%, respectively. Analysts said with the valuations in mid-cap and small-cap stocks looking stretched, the focus will more likely be on large-cap stocks.
ET has curated a list of 20 stock recommendations by various brokerages that are expected to do well in Samvat 2080. These include 10 picks from the large-cap universe, and five each from mid-cap and small-cap categories.
