Neymar's girlfriend targeted in kidnapping attempt

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, burglars entered the residence of Bruna Biancardi, the partner of Brazilian football star Neymar. According to Bruna’s verified Instagram account, the assailants took her parents hostage. Last month, the soccer superstar announced the birth of his daughter with his girlfriend Bruna Biancardi.

Reports from local media sources indicated that the house is situated in Cotia, a city within the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. One of the three armed robbers has been captured, and he happened to be a neighbor of Biancardi’s parents.

The robbers asked about the whereabouts of Biancardi and her infant daughter. But neither Bruna Biancardi nor her child were residing at the house at the time. They had already moved elsewhere, which Bruna clarified on her Instagram account.

Online news outlet G1 detailed that the burglars resorted to restraining and silencing Biancardi’s parents, making off with high-end items such as luxury purses, watches, and jewelry. Surveillance footage revealed that the getaway vehicle belonged to a neighbor. This neighbor informed authorities that he had loaned the car to his son. Subsequently, the 20-year-old son was located and confessed to his involvement in the robbery, as reported by G1.

Bruna Biancardi expressed her relief on social media, stating, “Material possessions can be replaced, but the most important thing is that everyone is safe, and those responsible are being brought to justice.”

In her Instagram post, she further described the harrowing incident, “Early this morning, they broke into my home and held my parents hostage. My daughter, my sister, and I no longer reside there, and we were not present at the time. Thank God, everything is fine with them. I thank my God for watching over us and always protecting my family from harm.”

Neymar, too, expressed his dismay and concern regarding the attack on his Instagram account. He described it as a “sad day” and shared two pieces of unfortunate news. The first pertained to the attack that Bruna’s parents had endured, but Neymar expressed gratitude that everyone was safe. The second piece of unfortunate news was the passing of a friend. He extended his condolences to the friend’s family, saying, “May God welcome Luana with open arms.”
