Ratan Tata says he misses JRD's affection & kindness

Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan Tata spent his Friday in the memory of his mentor and friend JRD Tata on his 118th birth anniversary.

In a special post on Instagram, the 84-year-old said that he remembers Jeh – fondly called by Tata – as a ‘warm-hearted’ and ‘caring’ human being.

Tata said that Jeh left an ‘enormous influence’ in his life in all the years they spent together. The two shared many common interests, but Tata revealed that he misses JRD’s ‘affection and kindness‘.

“Although Jeh is not with us, his legend will continue in the years ahead,” he concluded his post. Tata also shared a picture of Jeh with his post, which got over 190K likes in two hours.

From founder’s day to birth and death anniversaries, Tata never misses a chance to reminisce good ol’ days with the late businessman.

Time and again, the philanthropist has shared that Jeh had a ‘profound’ impact on his life, professionally and personally. He was a friend, a role model and a mentor to Tata.

Earlier in 2019, Tata had shared that the two spent a lot of time together in the last few years of JRD’s life.

Jeh loved visiting the shop floor of the Telco (Tata Engineering), and Tata witnessed the ‘genuine’ love and affection he got from the workers and supervisors. “I miss him dearly and will always thank him for what he taught me,” his 2019 post said.

The group changed its flagship firm Telco’s name to

in 2003.

The businessmen-duo also shared a common passion for aviation.
