SBI net banking, app, YONO to be down on this day

State Bank of India has informed that there would be non-availability of certain digital channels on March 23, 2024 for some time for scheduled activity, according to the SBI website.

Which services will not be available

Services of Internet Banking, Yono Lite, Yono Business Web & Mobile App, YONO and UPI, according to the SBI website.



Timing of downtime

The services will not be available between 01:10 Hrs IST and 02:10 Hrs IST on 23rd March 2024.



What will be available


During this period, services of UPI Lite and ATM will be available.

What is UPI Lite

UPI LITE is a new payment solution that leverages the trusted NPCI Common Library (CL) application to process low value transactions that have been set at below limit.

According to the SBI website, “Due to scheduled activity, the services of Internet Banking, Yono Lite, Yono Business Web & Mobile App, YONO and UPI will not be available between 01:10 Hrs IST and 02:10 Hrs IST on 23rd March 2024. During this period, services of UPI Lite and ATM will be available”

How to enable UPI Lite

To enable UPI LITE

Step 1: User has to open his/her UPI App

Step 2: On home screen of the App, user will get the option to enable UPI LITE. Click on the option

Step 3: User reads and accepts the terms & conditions

Step 4: User enters the amount to add in UPI LITE and select the Bank account

Step 5: User enters UPI PIN

Step 6: UPI LITE enabled successfully!

How to make transaction using UPI LIte

For making seamless transactions via UPI LITE

Step 1: User opens the app

Step 2: User chooses to pay.

Step 3: User enters the amount

Step 4: Money Sent Successfully without UPI Pin.

UPI LITE balance in case of change of Mobile Device

According to the NPCI website, “UPI LITE balance should be treated equivalent to cash and the user will be responsible for the balance loaded in LITE account. In case user changes the mobile device, user should disable the LITE account from old mobile device & then enable a new LITE account on the new mobile device. This shall ensure that the LITE balance lying in the older mobile LITE account is pushed back to user account.”
