With record-breaking price increases fast approaching for BT, EE, Plusnet, and Virgin Media customers …it’s fortunate there’s a slew of brilliant broadband deals around right now. If you’re outside of the minimum term of your contract, which Ofcom research estimates that around 40 percent of all broadband customers currently are, there’s never been a better time to secure a better broadband deal. And this offer from Shell Energy Broadband Superfast Fibre Plus is an amazing option.

The latest deal, which comes exclusively via Broadband Genie, offers average download speeds of 63Mbps. For context, Netflix recommends a minimum speed of 25Mbps for its best picture quality – 4K Ultra HD. So, downloads of 63Mbps should be enough to binge on boxsets, back-up photos and data, and download the latest software updates without hassle. Since Shell Energy, not a brand known for its history in telecommunications, relies on BT-owned Openreach for its broadband infrastructure, if you’re able to get BT, EE or Sky broadband in your street, you’ll be able to secure this deal.

Better yet, anyone who signs up for Shell Energy Broadband Superfast Fibre Plus bundle before January 31 will receive £100 to spend on Amazon UK free of charge. Before you check-out, Shell Energy will ask you to put in an email address. After checkout, you’ll be sent the voucher, which you can spend on anything you want.

Shell Energy has also slashed the price of its Superfast Fibre plan, which bundles the same £100 voucher to spend on Amazon UK. However, this plan has a slightly slower download speed of 35Mbps. Given that Broadband Genie has slashed the cost of both Superfast Fibre and Superfast Fibre Plus down to £21.99 a month.

In other words, for the same monthly cost, you can unlock almost twice the download speeds. At the end of the 18-month contract, you’ll be able to switch to another provider or a new deal from Shell Energy, so there’s no need to worry about bills getting higher if you pick the faster Superfast Fibre Plus plan.

For comparison, TalkTalk currently offers similar 67Mbps download speeds, sold via Broadband Genie, which comes with an £80 voucher to spend at Amazon, Tesco, or M&S for a slightly lower £20 a month. However, that deal ends at midnight tonight, so you’ll need to be fast. Meanwhile, Plusnet is charging £23.95 a month for the same 66Mbps speeds as the TalkTalk Fibre 65 bundle. Like TalkTalk, it has dropped the set-up fee and includes a £70 voucher. So you’ll get the same speeds for less money each month and a bigger voucher. BT is currently charging £27.99 a month for its slower 50Mbps download speeds.
